A 30-year-old transient from Tacoma led Yelm officers on a short chase the afternoon of Tuesday, June 16, and was later booked into Nisqually Jail on a Washington Department of Corrections warrant.
Yelm officers observed a 2006 Chrysler 300 without a front bumper heading eastbound on 91st Avenue. After performing a license check, officers determined the vehicle’s registration to be expired.
After the officers turned on their lights, and after the Chrysler failed to stop at a sign around Mountain Sunrise Street, the vehicle took off, according to a police report.
Officers were able to pull the vehicle over at the intersection of Rainier View Drive and 92nd Avenue and detained Tristan Morrison, 30.
Morrison told officers he was not trying evade the officers, but that he was just lost.
