Thurston County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a 55-year-old man near Yelm Sunday after a woman reported that he had threatened to kill her.
James J. Stilton, a convicted felon, was found to be in possession of eight firearms and thousands of rounds of ammunition after deputies responded to the call, which was made at about 7:30 a.m. from the 9000 block of El Camino Lane Southeast, according to the sheriff’s office.
The female caller reported that her boyfriend had just assaulted her and threatened to kill her.
“She was frantic saying over and over that he was going to ‘kill her,’” read a Facebook post by the sheriff’s office. “While units were on their way, the female stated that her boyfriend was a convicted felon, had several weapons, had held her at gunpoint prior to this incident and that he had told her that he would not be going back to prison.”
Stilton was most recently convicted on two counts of first-degree robbery.
He was arrested Sunday and booked into the Thurston County Jail for felony second-degree assault (domestic violence), felony harassment (domestic violence) and eight counts of first-degree unlawful possession of a firearm.
