Semi Crash

Washington State Patrol troopers responded to an accident involving three semi trucks and a sedan in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5 on the Nisqually River bridge Wednesday morning.

District 1 Public Information Officer Trooper Johnna Batiste tweeted about the incident at approximately 11:13 a.m. on Wednesday. In an update, Batieste wrote that there were no injuries and that the roadway would be opened shortly.

As of 11:30 a.m., traffic on the bridge was restricted to two lanes with vehicles taking up the right lane and shoulder.

"Due to the location there are alternate routes that don't include Yelm," the Yelm Police Department wrote on Facebook. "However, expect an increase in traffic flow SB from Roy/Mckenna if this accident is not cleared in a timely manner."

This story will be updated if more information becomes available.
