Now that the school bond has been passed, the members of Citizens for the Support of Yelm Schools (CSYS) board are stepping down.

“Campaigning is really hard work and we are so grateful to this community for their support,” said Sandra Manwiller, co-chair for CSYS, in a press release. “But now that we’ve accomplished what we set out to do, my husband and I are ready to take a break and circle back with our kids. Our board is also ready to slow down and re-group with their families.”

In addition to Manwiller, Susan Hinton, Randy Hinton, Paul Manwiller, LaNora Siggelkow and John Corak, CSYS co-chairman, will also step down.

Yelm Realtor Tracie Choate, the grand marshal of last year’s Prairie Days Parade, will step in to take Manwiller’s and Corak’s position as chair of CSYS.

“I look forward to the opportunity of continuing the important mission of this organization, to grow its connections and build new ones,” Choate said in the press release. “I want to use my past leadership experiences as a community volunteer and my business connections to take this organization to the next level.”

Those interested in filling out the rest of the board can reach out to Choate at citizens4yelmschools@gmail.com.
