Two men were hospitalized with stab wounds early Tuesday morning after a small group of masked assailants attempted to assault a man outside the Riverside Manor Apartments.
The sheriff's office knows the identity of one of the masked suspects and is currently pursuing leads to find him.
Lt. Ray Brady, with the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office, said a 37-year-old man was transported to Providence St. Peter Hospital with minor wounds and a 53-year-old was flown to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The 53-year-old was considered stable but his injuries were severe, Brady said. The two victims knew each other.
“Our belief at this point is that it was a targeted attack against the 53-year-old in this case,” Brady told the Nisqually Valley News.
The incident happened at about 1 a.m. when a group of masked men confronted the 53-year-old in the parking lot of the apartment complex, The Olympian first reported. The man called for help and the 37-year-old confronted the group.
During the struggle, one of the assailants had his mask removed by the 53-year-old. One of the victims reported to the sheriff’s office that they knew him.
