Looking for a refreshing way to start off the new year? Offut Lake Resort and the Clearwood Community Association will host two separate polar plunges for daring divers to wash away 2018.

Community members can head to Lady of the Lake restaurant on Offut Lake for a free 10 a.m. polar plunge that will feature reasonably-priced bloody marys, a biscuits and gravy bar and a lakeside bonfire. Entry into the event will be free to the public.

The annual Clear Lake polar plunge has been renamed this year. The McMaster Polar Plunge will take place New Year’s Day in honor of recently deceased Bald Hills Fire Commissioner Roger McMaster, who passed about a year ago after a year of fighting cancer.

Revelers and residents at Clear Lake will take in their plunge at noon.
