•Join the Friends of the Yelm Library at their monthly book sale from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Be sure to watch for the amazing deals offered.

•Mat Yoga is held 10:30  a.m. on Saturdays at the Yelm Timberland Library. Wear comfortable clothing, bring your mat and be ready to stretch in this floor yoga program.

•Restorative Yoga is held at noon on Saturdays at the Yelm Timberland Library. Restorative Yoga involves holding a reclining or sitting pose for 5 to 10 minutes to allow deep relaxation. Props are used to support the body. For example, a folded blanket or bolster on the legs will support the torso in a seated forward fold. Each participant needs to bring a mat, a yoga block, and a blanket. Additional blocks, blanket and bolsters will allow for deeper relaxation, but are not essential.

Tuesday, Jan. 8

•Friends of the Yelm Library meets at 11 a.m. Support the library and the programs it provides. Get involved by using your talents to support community growth. All are welcome.

•Yelm Pageturners meet at 7 p.m. at the Yelm Library. Join a discussion of “The Lost City of Z: A Tale of Deadly Obsession in The Amazon” by David Grann.

Wednesday, Jan. 9

•Thurston County Emergency Management Coordinator Vivian Eason will discuss emergency preparedness at 11 a.m. at the Rainier Senior Center. Public is welcome. Call 360-292-5363 for more information.

•The Yelm WA So. Thurston CWC affiliated with Stonecroft Ministries will hold a luncheon from 12-1:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church. •Yelm Library offers Creative Playtime at 10:30 a.m. Come to the library with your preschoolers and enjoy a morning of creative playtime. The library will provide activities and a warm place to enjoy them. This is an early learning program.

•Yelm Timberland Library presents Fireside Jams at 5:30 p.m. Bring your acoustic instrument and come ready to participate at this open music session. Open to seasoned pros and absolute newbies.
