A fifth Thurston County resident has died due to health complications related to COVID-19, Thurston County Public Health and Social Services announced Thursday, June 18, through social media.

The latest death was a man in his 70s, Public Health reports. This is the fourth death reported in the last two weeks.

The county also reported an additional four new cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, on Thursday. The total number of confirmed cases now stands at 205, with 173 of those people having recovered.

The four new cases were all women. One is in her 50s, one in her 20s and two were between the ages of 10 and 19. Women currently make up 58 percent of confirmed cases, according to county data.

Twenty-seven people have been hospitalized due to the virus.

The percent-positive rate in Thurston County is currently at 2 percent, with more than 11,725 tests having been processed.
