Potential City Administrator Visits Yelm

Steve Klein, left, talks with potential new city administrator Stefan Chatwin last Thursday inside the new Yelm Community Center in Yelm City Park. Klein is active in the community though his Yelm Community Blog and is a former Ramtha’s School of Enlightenment event services manager. He also lost the race for mayor of Yelm in 2005. Chatwin was being interviewed by several interested groups throughout the day, including this meet and greet with members of the Yelm Area Chamber of Commerce and some city personnel. The city administrator position has been vacant since Shelly Badger resigned in September last year to work in the private sector after serving in the Yelm city administration for three decades. Yelm Mayor Ron Harding had yet to finish his examination of Chatwin as of press time on Wednesday. Chatwin most recently was the Hayden, Idaho, city administrator from 2009-15.
