Rainier boys golfers take first at Oaksridge competition

The Rainier High School boys golf team finished with a first-place victory on Friday, April 12, at Oaksridge Golf Course in Elma, where it competed against Willapa Harbor, Agape Christian and Mary M. Knight.

The Mountaineers earned a team score of 193, ahead of second-place Willapa Harbor’s 219. Joshua Peralta was the match medalist for Rainier with a score of 43, while Thomas Sprouffske finished in second with a 48. All three of the other Rainier golfers — Riley Lynch, Moroni Jackson and Elliott Drake — tied for third with a 51.



The Rainier girls had the lowest team score of 259 in the event, while host Mary M. Knight boasted the top three golfers overall but did not record a team score.
